ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Last Updated: November 2025

RiseWell (owned and operated by Ted Adams) is committed to ensuring that our website — joinrisewell.com — is accessible and usable for all people, including individuals with disabilities. Our mission includes supporting First Responders, Dispatchers, Fire/EMS, Law Enforcement personnel, and their families. We believe accessibility is part of creating a safe, inclusive, supportive environment for everyone who visits our site.

We are continuously working to improve accessibility across all areas of our digital presence.

1. Our Commitment

RiseWell strives to follow widely recognized accessibility principles based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, including:

  • Perceivable

  • Operable

  • Understandable

  • Robust

While we are not legally required to certify compliance, we make every effort to ensure that our content, design, and navigation are easy to use for as many people as possible.

2. Steps We Are Taking

We actively work to maintain and improve accessibility by:

A. Using clean, organized code frameworks

RiseWell is built using WordPress, Elementor, and the Kadence theme, which follow standards that support accessibility.

B. Ensuring readable typography

We use clear, high-contrast fonts and avoid overly stylized text that may be difficult to read.

C. Maintaining strong color contrast

Our color palette is chosen to support readability and emotional calm while meeting recommended contrast levels where possible.

D. Providing descriptive text alternatives

We include alt text for images whenever practical, especially for images used to convey information.

E. Using accessible forms and comment tools

MailerLite forms and wpDiscuz comment features are designed with accessibility considerations, including keyboard navigation support.

F. Simplifying layout and navigation

Pages are structured to support easy scanning, clear hierarchy, and predictable navigation.

G. Avoiding flashing, strobing, or visually triggering content

In alignment with our trauma-informed approach, RiseWell avoids imagery or animations that may distress users.

3. Areas We Are Actively Improving

RiseWell continues to work on:

  • Enhancing alt text coverage across all past images

  • Improving heading structure on new and existing pages

  • Ensuring keyboard navigation friendliness

  • Reducing decorative or redundant text that may be confusing to assistive technologies

  • Increasing consistency in templates and content blocks

  • Monitoring plug-ins for accessibility updates or issues

As a growing platform, some content may not yet fully meet recommended guidelines, but we are committed to ongoing improvement.

4. Third-Party Content

Some content and functionality on RiseWell is provided by third-party vendors (such as embedded forms, hosting systems, analytics, SEO tools, and comment platforms).
We do not control the accessibility of these tools, but we select services that strive for best practices and continue to evaluate alternatives when needed.
